March 2022 Spring Membership Meeting
April 19, 2022
The spring meeting was held at MCSO facilities off 35th Avenue near the training center. The MCSO helicopter landed for an up-close look, members rode the agency’s bearcat armored vehicles to the SWAT barn for weapons, EOD and K9 demonstrations, and a catered meal was shared with remarks from Sheriff Penzone and Council board members.
2021 MCSO Toy Drive
December 10, 2021
In December 2021 the Advisory Council joined a holiday toy drive to provide toys to families in need within the community. Donations were collected for several months until the distribution event, where MCSO Cadets helped hand out toys. This annual event is coordinated with Desert Rat Offroad Centers, St. Vincent de Paul and Tuesday Morning stores.
2021 Commemorative Rifle Presentation
August 9, 2021
2021 marked the 150th anniversary of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, and a limited-edition commemorative rifle was created as a fundraiser for the Memorial Fund. MCSO personnel presented rifle #1 to the generous collector who purchased this one-of-a-kind rifle.
Carefree Fundraiser at Sticks Golf & Cigar Lounge

The Advisory Council took part in a fundraising event at the Sticks Golf & Cigar Lounge in Carefree, AZ. Several MCSO deputies stopped by, and participants competed against them in the shooting simulator. Funds were raised for the MCSO Memorial Fund, with plenty of social time as well.
2021 National Sheriff’s Association Convention
January 9, 2021
The 2021 National Sheriff’s Association convention was held at the Phoenix Convention Center, and MCSO had a great display to showcase the organization. Council members helped staff a Memorial Fund booth to sell T-shirts, collect donations and raise awareness. Equipment on display included a Lake Patrol airboat and underwater robots, sheriff vehicles, drones and the latest MCSO helicopter.
MCSOAC Membership Meeting at SWAT Barn
March 30, 2019
A membership meeting was held at the MCSO SWAT Barn near the training center in West Phoenix. The SWAT team put on an impressive display of MCSO vehicles, firearms, Explosive Ordnance Disposal equipment and K9 units. Members shared a catered dinner, received Council updates and heard from the Sheriff on the state of the organization.
